OVERALL SUMMARY
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art developed from traditional Jiu-Jitsu by the Gracie family. BJJ is regarded as one of the most effective martial arts for self defense. It’s a style of which can be mastered by people of all ages, gender and fitness levels. Ground base fighting system used to utilize technique over power. BJJ fighting strategy is designed to equip smaller, weaker person using proper technique like leverage, joint locks and chokeholds can successfully defeat a bigger, stronger opponent.

Style of Fighting
As a BJJ student, you have to drills / spar with your training partner, you must keep yourself and your opponent safe. When you start sparring, it’s not about win or lose. It’s all about learning. If you were trained other martial arts discipline besides BJJ, don’t compare and bring your unrelated technique into training session. It’s better to leave you ego before you step to the mat. Student who train with ego, usually endanger themselves. As a newbie (white belt), you’ll learn the game from a white canvas. You’ll be spending much of time to drills escape movements. BJJ is a martial art that requires a variety of body movements, such as flexibility, traction and postural balance. A white belt has to understand the basic positional hierarchy during training. So, you have strategy to survive and escape.

BJJ Women
When a woman entering the BJJ class, some misconceptions comes from common peoples about what it really is. BJJ has a public image as a male dominated martial art. Mostly, woman is far more likely to be dominated than to dominate. It looks injurious and harmful. But in fact, from all the women grappling practitioner stories, none of them had a harassment from team mate / trainers during training. They built a friendly environment. In order to make our gym safe, all males / females practitioners always keep the training comfortable, and protect / respect each other. BJJ is supposed to be for everyone.

BJJ Kids
In general, parents put their children in martial arts as a self defense. In the other hands, it will teach them to be a calm and humble person. Avoiding and preventing altercations. BJJ provides many benefits to children for create better individuals. Children will learn discipline and respect that can be applied into many others aspects of life. Train BJJ also help children to sharpen developing minds and gain problem solving skills. BJJ has self defense system to avoid bully and altercations that mostly end up on the ground.

Mix Martial Arts known as full contact combat sport with combination of striking and grappling. Jiu-Jitsu is one of the popular disciplines that used in MMA for ground fighting besides wrestling, sambo, luta livre, judo, etc. Technically, BJJ emphasizes getting opponent to the ground use takedowns, throws and finished by submission holds. Nowadays in Indonesia, BJJ is rapidly growth since MMA has become more of a mainstream sport.

Bring your training shirts and sweatpants. Come and try our class every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 18.30 pm. You will feel welcomed in the class with friendly environment.
